Himalayan Salt Infrared Sauna

Our Himalayan Salt Infrared Sauna was the FIRST salt sauna in Nebraska and is meant to be an Oasis in rural, central Nebraska. This is the ultimate way to to relax and revitalize your system either on its own or paired with Massage Therapy, before a foot detox session or even before a relaxing facial with Kaitlynn. 

Himalayan Salt Far Infrared (FIR) Sauna Therapy is an outstanding treatment modality and relaxation therapy for a great many people. There are, however, some people who should not use Himalayan Salt FIR sauna at all, and others who should use it with caution. 

Inside the electro-magnetic spectrum, Far Infrared heat is manufactured by the sun. It is a portion of the sun’s invisible band. Even though the band of light is not detectable to your eye, you feel the heat sensation. This is the heat you feel infiltrate your skin when you are out in the sunlight. You could compare it to sitting in a car on a chilly day and being able to feel the sunlight come through the window. In addition, infrared energy is also produced as body heat. You know that natural warmth you feel when you are sunbathing? Even your sunscreen can’t stop that, as it only blocks UV light from penetrating your skin—not FIR (far infrared) light waves. In fact, you can experience Far Infrared heat for hours and it will never damage your skin. (please be cautious when tanning before or after a FIR sauna session though) Far Infrared energy heats things by direct, molecular excitation, without heating the air between the spaces. Far Infrared rays infiltrate your body’s tissue much deeper than near infrared rays do. Your body absorbs Far Infrared heat waves that encourage the transfer of water across cellular membranes. Once this happens, and the cellular membranes are hydrated, your blood flow is enhanced and ultimately assists with an assortment of biologically beneficial healing functions.


The most notable characteristic of Far Infrared heat is its exceptional ability to penetrate far below superficial skin layers. When this occurs, it constructs a natural resonance, which has numerous advantageous properties. Infrared energy is measured in wavelengths as microns, and the human body can best absorb infrared energy in the 3- to 50-micron range—with the best absorption occurring at 9.4 microns (the same as the human body). These rays penetrate deep into the body where they gently elevate the body’s surface temperature and assist in expanding capillaries which stimulates blood circulation. By elevating the sub-surface tissue temperature, a series of continual changes constructive to human health will be instigated.


The reason Infrared saunas are so unique is that they use radiant energy to directly penetrate the body’s tissues to a depth of over 1.5”.  With FAR infrared penetrating up to 6 inches into the body.  Its energy output can be tuned to correspond so closely to the body’s own radiant energy so that our bodies absorb close to 93% of the infrared waves that reach our skin. Less than 20% of the infrared energy heats the air, leaving over 80% available to be directly converted to heat within our bodies. Therefore, a Far Infrared based system can warm its user(s) to a much greater depth and much more effectively than a conventional, near or full spectrum sauna.

This important difference explains many of the unparalleled benefits reported to be available through an Infrared Thermal System that are not achievable using a standard steam sauna. Far Infrared saunas produce up to 2-3 times the sweat volume of a hot-air sauna while working at a considerably cooler air temperature range of 110 degrees to 140 degrees versus 180 degrees to 235 degrees for hot-air steam saunas. The lower heat scale is ideal for those apprehensive about cardiovascular risk factors that might be adversely affected by the higher temperature encountered in traditional hot-air saunas. Benefits of Salt

Benefits of Chromotherapy, AKA Light Therapy

In our Himalayan Salt Infrared Sauna, we have also included state of the art Chromotherapy or "Color therapy".  Chromotherapy is the science of using colors to adjust body vibrations to frequencies that result in health and harmony. Each color possesses frequencies of a specific light wave lengths.  Just as we learned in Science class while in High School.  Each light wave length is related to different physical symptoms.

Our bodies need the sun’s light to live. That light can actually be broken down into a seven color spectrum. An imbalance of any of those colors or light wave lengths, can manifest itself in physical and mental symptoms. Color therapy works on various points to help balance your body via the full spectrum of visible light, each color addressing a distinct need.

Color and light have been utilized for thousands of years. Color therapy possibly has roots in Indian medicine (Ayurveda), ancient Egyptian culture and traditional Chinese healing.

Alternative medicine practitioners who use chromotherapy, often relating the seven colors of the color spectrum to specific body areas.

Common Questions

What do I wear?

Any exercise type clothing works just fine! However we have fluffy robes that you can use during your session.  Some people prefer to be fully clothed, while others prefer minimal clothing to no clothing during their session.  Some even bring a "Sauna Suit" and/or sauna hot cream they have previously purchased through places like Amazon.  It is totally up to your discretion as to what you personally prefer during YOUR session.  Far Infrared Rays penetrate deep within the body, clothing will not deter it.  

Can I wear a Sauna Hat?

If you have one, please feel free to bring it with you! They are not necessary however they are a wonderful addition to wear during your session to keep your hair from getting sweaty!

Do I need to drink plenty of water before I arrive?

YES!!! Please drink a minimum of 12-16oz of water within 1 hour before your session and again within an hour after your session.  This is VERY important for hydration and detoxification.  During your session carbs will be released from your cells.  If you are not PLENTY hydrated, those carbs will not be released!! They will be re-absorbed back into your body and make you feel bloated for 24-48 hrs. So PLEASE, drink PLENTY of water!  We will provide you with a complimentary bottle of water after you session if you would like one.

How about food?

Food can make you feel bloated or uncomfortable during your session.  A light snack or healthy meal is just fine.  However a heavy meal right before your session may make you feel uncomfortable, bloated, reduced breathing due to stomaching pressing on the diaphragm and you may experience hearing digestion during your session.  Keeping you from fully relaxing, increasing cortisol - the stress response, and keeping you from experiencing many of the benefits.  

How many people can be in the sauna?

 Only 1 person per session as our Himalayan Salt Infrared Sauna is set up for 1 person at a time to get the maximum salt saturation benefits within the air.  As well as being plenty of room for you to kick your feet up, relax and fully immerse yourself in this experience!  (we now allow up to 2 people per session with an additional charge. Please note, salt benefits will be reduced with 2 individuals in the sauna as it reduces the other salt saturation rating)

May I take my phone or tablet in the sauna with me? 

Unfortunately no.  Our specific sauna is low EMF-Electro Magnetic Frequency.  By adding higher EMF's into the sauna, you are introducing Positive Ions (BAD ions) into a Negative Ion (GOOD Ions) rich environment.  As well as... it could fry your phone!  Just as if you were to leave your phone in your car on a hot summer day! 


May I bring a book or magazine with me? 

If you would like to read while in the sauna, please bring a book along with you or enjoy a magazine.  (if they are glued binding, the glue may melt.  You may want to limit your time with them in the the sauna)  OR better yet... sit back, close your eyes, relax, meditate and just take some time for you!
